Life In The Drumline

Life in the drumline has been quiet challenging, with Covid-19 and the all safety regulations in place it has made our Marching Season almost non existent. No Drumline features, competitions, playing in front of large screaming Utica fans. But what we do have, is that family feel that we are all in this together and we will be stronger as a group in the end. For the seniors leaving this year I feel bad but want to let them know never stop that love you have for playing music it’s what makes us laugh, smile and build friendships . I know on whatever direction you decide to take after graduation you will always have the memories this band has made in the past.

Here is a little good news, last night a little bit of restrictions have been lifted in our district and we will be able to play our show music on the football filed at the last home football game, not in full uniform but at least we get to play our show music that we would of gone to competition with. Also, thanks to the great band boosters and our UHS director they are having a nice send off to the seniors and parents of those seniors at a special night on the field.

I think things will start to slowly go back to the norms and this will be a thing of the past and we can say we survived it together.

Stay safe and talk to you soon….
